Much2Plan software

For Windows XP/Vista

I use Microsoft Outlook for appointments that are time specific, I use Much2Do and Much2Plan for tasks that are not time specific. The lists contain task descriptions of work I have to do (some time in the future). The list also contains 'bugs' of software I have made and ideas for new 'features' for current or new programs. Because of the last group of items I discovered the need to 'plan' my tasks.

To add planning to the original program I added a second list to the PC application. It is possible to drag a task or group of tasks from the treeview on the left to a specific day on the right side. After dragging the tasks, they are not removed from the treeview. The concept is this:

"manage Tasks at the left side and manage Time on the right side of the screen"

When a specific task is selected at the left side, the day or days that have that task assigned (if any) will be selected on the right side (see picture above). When you click on a specific day on the right side, the planned task (and subtasks) is selected in the list on the left side (see picture below). Both lists are 'connected' to each other.

When all tasks are completed according to planning, the planning at the right side will shift upwards one row each day. But tasks are not removed automatically. Tasks need to be removed manuall in the treeview on the left side. When a task was planned today and the task is not removed at the end of the day, the task will not be removed at the right side (eventhough the date is in the past).

Getting started

The left side of Much2Plan works in exactly the same way as Much2Do for PocketPC. The ony difference is that you can use keyboard shortcuts and you can drag and drop items. After you have created items on the left side, you can drag items to the right side, to a specific day. You can also drag and drop items.

It is also possible to reserve days (multiple days at the same time) and to free days. When something important comes along, you can Shift all items down using the Shift button. Note: you can choose whether to work in the weekend or to keep the weekend free by setting the selection box.

Synchronisation with Much2Do for PocketPC

It is possible to synchronise Much2Do and Much2Plan, see the Quick manual.
